ATHLETIC THERAPY is a dynamic,
active approach to rehabilitation.
An athletic therapist
will assess the injury and then design a rehabilitation
program specifically for the individual patient. The
rehabilitation program may include “hands-on” manual therapy techniques, therapeutic modalities, exercise
programs and education on the injury and preventative
measures.
The goal of the Athletic Therapist is to provide
the patient with the appropriate care necessary for
a quick return to the pre-injury state. Athletic Therapists
deal not only with recreational and professional athletes
but with people at every activity level. They treat
various soft tissue and orthopaedic injuries, motor
vehicle injuries and everyday aches and pains.
