Service - Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body. A Massage Therapist has full knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the nervous, muscular, respiratory, skeletal, lymphatic and circulatory structures. More and more people are beginning to choose this type of therapy to help relieve their physical pain and emotional stress. Other benefits of massage include tension and anxiety reduction, relaxation promotion, increasing the healing process and improving flexibility and efficiency of muscles during work or play. Inflammation and pain reduction, improved circulation, and an increased sense of well being are universal in all who seek Massage Therapy.

Other types of massage therapy offered include:

Visits

Your massage therapist will require you to first fill out a health history form. Afterwards the therapist will ask you general questions to establish what areas need to be treated.

Your massage therapist will give you privacy to undress and make yourself comfortable on the table. Except for the area that is being treated, you will be covered with a sheet and blanket at all times. If you do not feel comfortable, you may leave your undergarments on during the treatments. Many people close their eyes and relax completely during a session; others prefer to talk. It's up to you. It is your time, and whatever feels natural to you is the best way to relax.

Sessions usually start with applying the oil to the skin in long slow strokes called "effleurage". As your body becomes relaxed, pressure will gradually increase to relax specific areas. You can ask your therapist questions at any time before, during or after a treatment. When the treatment is finished, your therapist will leave the room which allows you to dress in privacy.
