Chiropractic Care

Dr. Alfin Mitha, Hons. B.Sc., D.C.

Doctor of Chiropractic

As a life-long resident of Brampton since 1974, Dr. Alfin Mitha endeavors to provide this city with reliable, informative Chiropractic care. He lives here with his 2 kids, Aura and Zen, and his wife Rupi. Having completed his Bachelor of Science degree in both Biology and Pharmacology at McMaster University, Dr. Mitha had the opportunity to work with Eli Lilly pharmaceuticals in their Research and Development of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer and Prozac. Deciding that the private sector in medicine was not for him, Dr. Mitha then took one year off to work in Ixtapa , Mexico as a land sports G.O for Club Med. Having considered Chiropractic in the past, it was only confirmed while having the chance to meet many Chiropractors during his time in Ixtapa.

The next part of his journey took him to the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto , Ontario . During his education, he still maintained an active physical lifestyle while working as a personal trainer. His internship year provided him the opportunity to work at 2 very different and unique places. The first part of his internship was at Anishnawbe Health and Native Wellness Center which serviced much of Toronto ’s aboriginal and homeless community. The second part of his internship allowed him the chance to treat players of the Canadian National Soccer Team, and other elite Canadian athletes. Both of these placements allowed Dr. Mitha to understand many aspects of illness, injury and health. A focus which remains in his clinic; In GoodHands.

Having returned back to Brampton, he has since become an active member of the Rotary Club, Brampton Tennis Club, Brampton Volleyball League, Yoga instructor and more recently the Health Practioner Advisory Committee for the city. Dr. Mitha wishes to become a more integral part of Brampton’s community. “It is imperative that we take care of our body and mind, it is our most valuable asset. The first step is education and if anything else, we provide that for our patients”.

Rostislav (Ross) Tchepourov

Osteopath, DOMP, RMT (Osteopath, Registered Massage Therapist)

Ross is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and Registered Massage Therapist, through the Ontario Osteopathic and Alternative Medicine Association and the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. He obtained a Diploma of Massage Therapy from Everest College in 2013, certification in Cranio-Sacral Therapy and Visceral Manipulations in November 2015 and March 2016 from the Toronto College of Osteopathy, followed by his Diploma in Osteopathic Manipulative Practice in June 2016. Ross has exceptional knowledge of Anatomy and Biomechanics, as well as exceptional palpation skills to the point of X-Ray Vision, but with hands. Rostislav’s treatment experience revolves around clinics and patients with just about any ailment there is, ranging from the basic neck and low back pain to menstrual cramps, indigestion/intolerances, chronic relentless pain, postural dysfunctions and misalignments, concussions, depression and degenerative conditions. Ross has treated a very wide range of different conditions using a combination of Swedish, non-Swedish, Relaxation and Sport massage techniques as well as Taping to help treat, maintain and prevent injury and maintain proper muscle firing, tone and posture. This range is further expanded with Osteopathy that involves effective treatments of: joints, connective/soft tissue, lymphatics, circulation of blood, function of organs and the Central and Peripheral nervous systems as well as the connection between mind and body. Ross specifically tailors each and every treatment to be compassionate and as efficient as possible, by finding the cause of the problem using a thorough assessment and constant monitoring during every second of the treatment. Ross specializes in full body and mind relaxation using Cranio-Sacral Therapy which involves the gentlest of touch to specifically tell the Nervous System to rest, even with PTSD, Autism and most other mental dysfunctions. Rostislav’s second specialty lies in alleviating the lovely gift that women receive every month, and the problems that follow. Whether it is heavy, painful, irregular, or causes other problems like frequent urination(day/night), migraines or constipation, it can be improved with regular treatments. Ross strongly believes that the body is a whole and must be assessed and treated as a whole and not in part, and the best tools to achieve that are your hands and mind.

Sukhi attended Brock University and earned a degree with an honors in BSc Kinesiology that consisted of an extensive curriculum in biomechanics, human growth, anatomy, neurology and sports injuries. During this time, she played for the rugby varsity team, contributed to mental health and student life clubs, endorsed physical activity and participated in a variety of intramural sports.

She spent most of her  time working with individuals who suffered from spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis and amputations providing personalized exercise programs that focused on their health and functional goals.

After University she obtained a diploma in osteopathic manual practice from the National Academy of Osteopathy in Toronto.

With an extensive background in kinesiology, athletic therapy and manual osteopathy, she is  able to treat physical and physiological dysfunction or imbalances in the body. She uses a holistic approach in my treatments and a variety of therapeutic techniques to assist in the body’s self-healing and maximize it’s own health and efficiency.

Osteopathy requires the knowledge of anatomy, relation and function of each part of the human body, and is applied to correct the structures and imbalances. Treatments will improve mobility, reduce or remove pain while also easing restrictions and inflammation using, soft and effective techniques such as static joint play, muscle energy techniques (MET’s), soft tissue therapy, myofascial release, visceral manipulations, and craniosacral therapy. Osteopaths seek to get to the root cause of pain and dysfunction rather than to simply treat the symptoms!
